snow day(s)

Skiing wasn't to happen this weekend either.
Although disappointing, it's difficult to actually be upset.

The topic of snow, and whose memory included previous winters with a similar glut of one weekend snowfall, was recurrent in the exchanges between us and the neighbors, some of whom came outside just to watch Munch barrel down the driveway. Although both 2004 and 2008 were cited as contenders, I personally can't recall a period comparable to that of the past few days.
Yesterday Munch went sledding three times, stomping back in for hot chocolate, popcorn, and a change of socks before heading back out. I wish I could say Wow enjoyed the snow as much

(hating his ski pants, the need for gloves, the snow, and pretty much everything about his life)
or at all. When white powder filled the top of his shoes, melted down his chin, and froze his fingertips, he complained so insistently that I had to let him back inside to play by himself while the rest of us stayed in the street.

And LD did manage to get one of us on skis.
(in a helmet that is, in fact, not gray).

  2. Poor Wow...tell him I feel his pain and often want to just throw myself down on the ground and pout as well! While the snow is beautiful, it's bitter cold!
