Kleenex is spilling like snowdrift over the top of the trash bins and the kids' room smells like stale peppermint.
Wow cannot catch a break. He developed fevers early in the week and by Friday a deep bronchial cough that would wake him from sleep. He refused to eat anything but frozen blueberries, which, in waste form, stained his butt cheeks midnight blue. In scrubbing his skin clean I further irritated the diaper rash that erupted after just a few days of this most recent course of antibiotics.
By Friday LD and Munch were also sick with URI symptoms. Munch and Wow went to bed early, both lulled into slumber by the vaporizer's low hum and the snortling of each other's congested noses.
In the morning Munch was almost back to normal, Wow was the same, and LD was worse. I tried to keep Munch out of the house as much as possible and so we spent the day running errands and meeting up with friends.
Today everyone is clearly on the mend - Wow's afebrile and eating normal food. LD is still snotty and coughing, but rallied himself for a trip to ACE hardware and made plans for midweek squash. And Munch, well, Munch is fine.
at least they all got sick at the same time. AND on a weekend. Sounds like that virus that's sweeping the nation.
ReplyDeleteBlech. Sorry for you all. I do not envy that part of the younger years. Luckily as they get older those times are fewer, farther in between, and less disruptive overall. Miss the hell out of all the other stuff, though!
ReplyDeleteHere's to hoping everyone feels better. now it's your turn to watch out, because if you're the last to get it... it's usually the worst!
