12 days of Christmas

Wow and I are back in town, having arrived home late Wednesday/early Thursday. Both flights were delayed, and through what I will generously refer to as a "miscommunication" between me and the Southwest airlines staff in Albuquerque, my stroller was checked through to our final destination rather than to the end of the flight segment. I trudged around LAX for two hours holding an exhausted baby who, a few hours earlier, had started to look like this -
It was fun, let me tell you. When we finally made it home his temperature was 103.1.

Wow is feeling better already, up to his old tricks which include pulling lamps off end tables and cords from electrical sockets.

I am still dragging and will so keep the summary of our holiday weekend short.

Twelve days of Christmas; The Angel Fire Edition
12: Out of town guests that descended on MIL and FIL for the holiday weekend. Note to MIL and other residents of ski resort towns - if you invite guests to Oh come Stay!, they Will Come And Stay.
11: Inches of snow outside their A-frame mountain home
10: Boxes and tins of chocolates, fudge, fruitcakes, cookies, cakes, and other such artery clogging fare that came out at the close of each meal
9: Minutes of old timey Christmas carols LD tolerated before yapping at me to "turn that crap off"
8 (500): feet elevation
7: Passages read aloud and/or discussion points raised by government-labor-attorney Tia in regards to her current read The Grapes of Wrath, because truly there are few topics as evocative of the holiday spirit as the displaced poor and their dying children. I admit, her enthusiasm was so infectious that the 617 page tome is now sitting on my bed stand.
6: Total grandparents AND number of deer spotted in the yard
5: Times Papi referred to his grandson by the dog's name.
4: Hours FIL spent crafting paella for fourteen
3: Ski days - one cross country and two downhill.
2: Adults laid low with altitude sickness
1(sts): Snow, sledding, and White Christmas
Many thanks FIL and MIL.
